The Perfect Time to Be Alive!

Hello, my dear wonderful friends!…Isn’t it an amazingly perfect time to be alive?

I know..I know…there are those whose jaws would drop just to hear that I could possibly THINK such a thing–much less be willing to make that sort of statement….the customary headlines have gone to great lengths to make sure that I know that this planet is “overwhelmingly” infested with illness, murder, deceit, hopelessness, crime and even (God forbid) celebrity bad hair days–so based on the headlines, the question really should be why on Earth am I even still here??! Wink!

Yes, but….take a look around…ok, so there IS illness…there IS violence….there IS poverty…and yes, perhaps there truly are those of us who have magnificently awful “bad hair days”….and yet….those sneaky hints of “amazing-ness” abound…

…diseases that are being cured…wonderful forums for peace and awareness…the person in the grocery store line that just gives you a smile out of nowhere…our own ability to emerge from the storms within….we have computers that can quickly and easily connect each of us to the other so that we can not only observe our unique differences, but we can marvel at our similarities…as I read the post by fellow blogger Good Morning C-Town, I thought, “yes, how perfect that we all now have the chance to read these words from each others’ hearts and to see that maybe we are not all so different….maybe we are evolving in absolutely the perfect direction…maybe the days when we interacted on this planet as strangers ¬†are now fading…maybe we are entering a new phase where we embrace the beauty of our gorgeous globe and interact as friends and extended family…maybe just maybe this is the dawning of the perfect moment to be alive….!” Progress begins with the desire to question and we are all super-charged with questions…. If there were no questions, there would be no desire to create. Can you feel it….?! The rumbling of creation….

So what if we don’t yet have a “perfect” planet (although maybe in its flaws lie its “perfection” because it DOES evoke amazing inspiration)…do we really want for it all to be “done” so that there is no reason for evolution? Isn’t it exciting to see our planet grow and blossom? Isn’t it phenomenal to see the new ideas that we each hatch on a daily basis? Isn’t it humbling to know that yes, you DO make a difference… you are part of this masterpiece…the world basks in each contribution that you make…each new phenomena that you inspire…Walk through this day as the grand creator that you are…and know that the world is honored that you are here. There is NO ONE—absolutely NO ONE like you…And there is no moment like the present to revel in all that it means to be ALIVE!

Time to take that moment to pinch yourself and do the full “tail in the air/ I learned this from my dog” happy dance! COWABUNGA, WORLD….HERE WE COME! We are artists of the Universe and we are here to create! Behold the masterpiece of our day!

Some Journeys May Lie Beyond the Yellow Brick Road

Hello, my dear sweet wonderful friends! Today, I call out to all of us who perhaps find ourselves more often in the poppy fields than actually on that Yellow Brick Road…Yes, I know…we are SUPPOSED to follow that windy, wiggly, weird little thing…I mean if a girl who surfs tornadoes, a lion who talks, a scarecrow who sings and a Tin Man who becomes a philosopher can do it, shouldn’t it be obviously simple?

So what is it with us? Why do we have to make a simple path SO DARN COMPLICATED?? (Do I sound fierce…maybe like the wicked witch or even like the fear inducing Wizard of Oz…. ha ha!) Well, here I smile and dance my way out from behind the curtain because you know what…? Today, I am rejoicing in the fact (yes, FACT) that FORTUNATELY the yellow brick road just isn’t for everyone. Ok, on some level, it might be easier to organize us all if we stuck to some basic rules and agreed to evaluate ourselves based on a generic set of qualities, but is it truly our predictability that makes our species so exciting?!

(Can you feel me smile again at this point?) Ok, so I have given myself away…you know what I think….BLAZE THOSE TRAILS… pick your favorite spot in the poppy field and dive on through…! Some folks might slumber, but so what if you do? Run, dance, play and set your sights on an evil witch or two…whatever makes your heart race…whatever makes you truly delight in being you…

Celebrate your uniqueness! Think great thoughts and dream great dreams! Live! Create and don’t let those weeds distract you! From weeds evolve wildflowers…free specks of bliss courtesy of this amazing planet Earth.

Yes, some might have you believe that our world is broken and that you in particular are flawed. I urge you to laugh and forge on—because there may be only one way down the Yellow Brick Road, but there are an infinite number of paths through the poppy field….claim one! BE one! Wear your best identity with pride… You are creating your own masterpiece. You can fly your own hot air balloon. And YOU, my dear, are your own HOME, so no need to click your sparkle shoes to get there.

From uniqueness not unlike your own came the greatness that created airplanes, electricity, highways and fine art. Go… use today to forge your own path forward. Go where your heart can create its perfect bouquet!

Yellow brick roads do make a mighty fine movie, but some folks just have to blaze right through the poppy fields….! Blaze on, my friends! The wind is at your back and the time is TODAY!

Find the miracles in your day!

Hello my dear and wonderful friends! Today I am reveling in the world of miracles! Yes, it may perhaps sound like an overstatement as we all battle our way through traffic or field a particularly exasperating call…and yet…. if you look for them…surprisingly…ironically…you will find those devilish little miracles lurking around many corners…. !

I’m not necessarily talking about walking on water, but, honestly, doesn’t it sort of feel like an absolute miracle when a situation that seemed ready to explode actually ends up making you shine—and even possibly looking like a modern day version of a hero??? To me, that’s (yes) A MIRACLE!!

I have decided that miracles are those moments that make me recognize that I am blossoming… I feel good and sometimes GREAT! I feel like jumping up behind my desk, throwing one arm up in the air and doing my own sort of victory dance (yes, try to rival me, you end zone superstars!)! Miracles are moments when I TASTE the thrill of happiness…when I don’t view life as a bitch…in fact, I sort of thrive on the action-packed juice that has given my life its Dolby sound!

And yes, miracles can be those moments when the snow falls so perfectly that even one’s heartbeat seems too loud… those moments when the caress of the candlelight upon the walls seem to create a kaleidoscope that suspends time eternally… Miracles can be those moments over the supper table when you truly BELIEVE that all is well and that life just couldn’t get any sweeter…

Miracles can be the moment when someone magically calls and says just the right thing when you felt oh-so disconnected…. Life is full of miracles. Today, I blow past the “rule” that says that we have to realistically define them and prove them and save them for rescuing babes from the fire… Yes…. today, my miracles live by my own rules… today, I embrace anything and everything that I want to dub a miracle… today, I take back the reins on my own life and ALLOW myself the license to “in joy”….! Today, I see miracles even in the contrast and I smile knowing that this adventure is lusciously, exquisitely and blissfully mine…! Dance with us, world… teach us the miracle of your most precociously all-embracing tango….!

Tinkerbell

Hello, dear wonderful friends! Tonight I sit immersed in the exquisite silence of our planet at night….one dog curled on my lap…two others nestled into the pillows of the futon chair by my side…all I hear is the gentle intake of their breath and the all-embracing beauty of a world at peace….

Ok, so perhaps it wasn’t the easiest day on the planet…life has a way of throwing curve balls into one’s path..but nevertheless, in the perfection of this moment, I am finding my way back to the peace and quiet of inner contentment….I am changing and this change is good…

For most of my life, I have been questing for happiness…yes, “the secret”….the ultimate prize that will “trouble proof” my world and insure that my world is light and fluffy. I have gone to great lengths to try to discover how to claim Happiness as mine–and yet, in spite of my efforts, these little snafus always seemed to appear. I would grow perplexed and discouraged. What could I be missing? Why could I not achieve it–and even more often, why could I not maintain it—harness it—disaster proof it so that I could always call it “mine”?

And then one day, I began to see…. like a bird, Happiness is not something that one captures, but nor is it something that will fly away if one is not careful. Happiness is not something that one can claim or even hold stagnant. Happiness is around us…alive and beating like a heart in love… Happiness is a brilliance that one breathes into the depths of one’s soul—usually by choice and by design. Although some things make it easier to allow that glorious Happiness into one’s heart, Happiness needs nothing other than a willing soul. Happiness doesn’t demand perfection. Happiness doesn’t require company or prosperity or even a series of carefully woven events. Happiness is totally and completely free…complex in its simplicity. Happiness offers its essence to anyone at any moment. The fruit on the tree of happiness is always ripe. All we have to do is to decide to pluck it.

And so, dear friends, as we scurry through our busy days, let’s not chide ourselves too badly for the occasional foul mood or momentary frustration. It is all part of the colorful palate that creates the masterpiece. And yet, as we play at this game called Life, let’s remember that happiness is the sound of our lover’s breath. Happiness is the perfect shade of green. Happiness is the perfect song at the perfect moment. Happiness is the first taste of that perfectly chilled nectar. Happiness is the sounds of laughter along a street. Happiness is the ability to giggle for no reason. Happiness is here—waiting to be unleashed. Happiness is important and powerful, and always ready when we are.

Maybe there is no secret…maybe Happiness is like the missing pair of glasses that sits waiting to be discovered on top of our head…
