The sun, the moon and the secret of the perfect parent…

Indonesia sunset 2014

Hello dear beautiful world! Hello dear beautiful planet! Today I celebrate the art of amazing parenting… the art of dancing with one’s child on far away beaches… the art of capturing dragons in the clouds and of counting all of the colors in one small spec of this abundant Universe…. today, I celebrate the ones that will struggle bravely next to their eternally buoyant wee one as they hike through the darkness in pursuit of that one magical sunrise… the ones that will listen to endless recounting of dreams… the endless belief in possible impossibilities… endless hopes… endless pleasures… the ones that embrace the energy… the passion and even the heartache… today I celebrate the parent that will brave it all to keep their child’s hope and imagination thriving… the parent that will say, “of course you can” and “aren’t you amazing?”…. Today I celebrate all that lies within each of us that allows us to be the perfect parent to the child within…..

Much love and power to the perfect parent that is you!

“Ride” Each Moment With Glorious Abandon!

A fall is just a spontaneous moment of unexpected flight before you hit new ground….wink!

Yes, that was the lesson of the Universe as I found myself yesterday suspended in an unexpected “flyover” (that moment when you find yourself in mid-flip over the handlebars waiting to see where you will land…). We were within the final 5 miles of our ride… since turnout was a bit low, we had been grouped with some of the most accomplished riders in the club, so this ride had quickly evolved into one of the fastest rides ever … it was an absolutely GLORIOUS day…PERFECT weather…beautiful clouds…the terrain was windy with quite a few (pant, wheeze, pant) hills to climb…the sand could be quite thick and treacherous but we were CRUISING!! I was feeling good….no, I was feeling GREAT!!

It was one of those riveting moments when you realize that you have grown… you have blossomed into something more… you have become an even better version of you…. in this case, I realized that I have really become an infinitely rider than I had been even a year ago. Even the more advanced riders were commenting about it… I was zooming and loving it….!!

We had just stopped for a quick decision at a fork in the road then hopped back on our bikes for a rather sharp decline… I began to hear a lot of the guys ahead of me jokingly saying “weeee weeeee” and then there “it” was… the Universe’s little joie du jour for me… hee hee… It came in the form of a rather pronounced series of roots/small logs embedded in the path that created  a series of steps in the middle of a pretty fast descent… even without any additional dimensions to the challenge, it would have been tricky to navigate at that speed, but couple it with the patch of deep sand in between the roots and well….I was suddenly in flight feeling like Mary Poppins…. “practically perfect”, with heavy emphasis in this case on “practically”…..!

Interestingly enough though, in spite of the rather large new bruises…in spite of the wee bit of blood…my desire was to hop immediately on my bike and fly even faster…. so that’s what I did…! Amazingly, I even managed to catch back up with the guys who were the faster riders… my mind, my body and my bike became one… I was exhausted, but I was elated… there was a rhythm and a rightness to each obstacle…and a glory in each tiny achievement… the moment was in no way about having fallen… it became totally about having bounced up and moved forward with new drive and new determination…

As I pulled into the parking lot suddenly noticing that I was the lone “B-” rider still with the “B/B+” pack, it struck me that the glory of the adventure had not been eroded by the fall. Instead, the glory of the success had been enhanced with the discovery that not only can we get up when we fall, it can be these falls that add to our momentum. Yes, for a moment as I flew through the air, the wind had literally been at my back— and before my feet even touched the ground (or should I say, my back, my shoulders, my legs…BIG THUMP!! HA HA…), my spirit had decided that I wasn’t going to lose that sense of wondrous flight just because I took a momentary hit….

With a smile and a wee bit of drama, our dear Mother Earth sent me out the door to play…saying “jump in those puddles”, “run down those hills”… “fall down every now and again–it’s good for the spirit”…” because in these challenges lie the promise that not only do you have the strength to get up, you have the tenacity to create “more”…the bubbling desire to dream more….to love more….to live more….and more and more and more…

Life is as much as the glory of being thrown over the handlebars as it is about the victory of the finish! If today is a day when you get thrown, so be it! Grab that bike and race on forward…. And even if you are alone in the forest, remember that you always have your own mighty voice to cheer yourself on… wink!

Winks and Nods,

Tink

The Secret of Successful People…

IMG_2783

What do all great successful people have in common? … Days, weeks, months, years before their successes became evident, these same people woke up in the morning to the “reality” that these (soon-to-be achieved) goals/ hopes/ bucket lists were still “just” dreams…. Had they passively filed them away as “unrealistic” because they did not already “exist”, they would have remained “just dreams”….

So nurture each and every one of your dreams for they mold and sculpt your today—as well as your tomorrow. Don’t wait until they are “real” until you believe in them. Believe in them NOW… live them with gusto NOW… treat them like one of the most valued aspects of who you are…because you never know which one of these dreams will surprise you and one day catapult you to the day when they are no longer “just dreams” but an obvious, fully manifested, “wow-can-this-really-be-me” type of success.

Do not wait to “live the dream”. It doesn’t get any more potentially real than what we dare to imagine!

Life is a garden of successes waiting to be harvested

Life is a garden of successes waiting to be harvested. The potential bounty comes in all shapes and sizes. Some will resemble the decadent sweetness of melon and some the nutritional fortitude of leafy greens. But together these successes create a lifetime of potential harvest and well being.

As the farmer of this eternally blossoming crop it’s important to revel in the diversity of your garden. Savor the successes and remember that not all fruits and vegetables blossom at the same time. And look for the signs of those new buds! Welcome into your definition of success all aspects of the blooming process–including the creation of the rich soil and the planting of the seeds.

So how does this translate into real life? How do we cultivate those new beliefs that support a healthy mind?

Think big–but start small. Success is not an “all or nothing” entity. A big success is nothing more than a series of small successes that combine to become mighty. Expect it. See it. Or simply feel it. Allow it to evolve–which means relaxing into the challenging moments with the same confidence that you rejoice into the moments of obvious forward motion.

Success is fluid so remember that the challenges serve a purpose. When you can relax and observe and learn, these challenges can inspire your most rewarding insights. Let the stumbles guide you toward new ideas and let them serve as reminders for defining what it is that you do want.

Celebrate the “small” achievements and appreciate each moment that a new seed is planted in your garden. Allow yourself to feel as proud of those areas of your life that are “still growing” as you do about those areas that have already made it to your table.

The richness of your life comes from viewing your “garden” with the loving eyes of a true gardener. Love the sun. Love the rain. Love the fertilizer that makes the soil vibrant and “more”. Love the sprouts as they push up through the soil. Love the buds and love the harvest. Love the plants that seem to take forever to grow and love the plants that blossom quickly. Love the plants that struggle. Love the plants that thrive easily.

All are signs that your garden is vibrant and that this garden of life is “maturing”. All is as it is intended to be. All in its good time. All responding to the loving belief and nurturing of you, the caretaker.

Breathe in this new perspective and allow yourself to acknowledge the abundance of success all around you. Free yourself from the bondage of believing that success means that “there is no more to be had in any aspect of my life–I have it all..” This was perhaps well intentioned programming but it doesn’t empower the successful gardener. It is a flawed belief so time to add it to the mental compost pile.

Yes, Life is MEANT to be vibrant and flowing. Each moment is unique but mighty. Each moment carries with it the opportunity for jubilation. And while one plant is blooming, another is just exploring beyond its seed. So revel in this luscious process– and know that it is this constant change that creates the promise of eternally more.

This is the harmony of Nature, of kinetic motion, of eternity …of Life.

So go out into this day with eyes ready to appreciate and to savor your own garden of successes. Revel in its diversity. Relax and rejoice in the seeds that have been sown. Embrace the process of planting these seeds with the same satisfaction that you view the fruits ready for harvest. Know that these too will bloom!

Be as proud of your small goals and small successes as you are of the windfalls. Invite joy into your day and into your life.

For you ARE the mighty gardener! You ARE a collage of successes. All around you are signs of growth and becoming. Dig your hands into the dirt. Celebrate your own unique abundance of successes whether they are “finished” successes or successes in motion!

It is Time! Time to welcome in the immensity of your garden and to feel the power of a Life that is constantly growing. For this makes it well worth each minute of YOUR century. How will you celebrate this opportunity to cultivate a mighty life on this planet?

Happiness is a lifestyle

Happiness is a lifestyle. It’s not a location nor is it something that we have to “find”. It has no more to do with the car that cuts you off in traffic than it does than it does with landing the dream job…. Because “the secret” to happiness is that it’s not about them or about “it”–it’s about YOU!

Happiness is about the eyes that you wake up with in the morning…or should I say that happiness is the heart that you choose to adorn each morning. Happiness is your spiritual wardrobe–the “little black dress of Life” that fits perfectly at any occasion, that looks great and that can be accessorized with just about anything. Like any wardrobe item, it is up to you to pull it out of the closet on any given day. It is not a school uniform. No one is going to force you to wear it.

Choosing to adorn oneself with happiness means letting go of some of the “cause and effect” behavior that we have learned over the years. If someone behaves one way, you may choose your reaction based on how this reaction will ultimately serve you.

Choosing to embrace the power of happiness means visiting a new “mental gym” and developing new mental muscles. Choosing happiness means toning up the spiritual flab and pursuing an emotional 6-pack with the same enthusiasm that many pursue a physique that will turn heads.

Being happy is a richness that is much deeper than feeling happy. Feeling happy typically means that your emotions are responding to your environment and that this outer stimulus is making your thoughts (and therefore your emotions) feel good.

BEING happy means that you have learned to recognize and to deliberately allow your mind to harvest from your experience the “mental health food ” that infuses you with more consistent optimism, more power and more appreciation of the value of the upside and “downside” of experience.

Yes, happiness is a vast wealth accessible to all and waiting to be cultivated. Happiness offers itself in the feel of a soft pillow or the smell of clean sheets. Happiness offers itself in the job loss that ended up inspiring the new booming business. Happiness offers itself in the words of a child or the wagging tail of a dog. Happiness offers itself in the spontaneous giggles inspired by a new commercial or by the exquisite peace inspired by Debussy.

Living happiness means soaking in a friend’s laughter…taking time to bathe in the scent of a freshly cut lawn or the first fires of autumn or the smell of freshly baked bread as one zooms past a bakery.

Living happiness means understanding the value of focusing wisely. Living happiness means freeing oneself of the “obligation” to react negatively to something in one’s environment. Living happiness means understanding that “reality” is not synonymous with problems…that we are not required to disempower ourselves by searching and destroying the “wrongs” in every picture.

Living happiness means embracing this essence as a viable reality–rocket fuel for human potential. Joy taps into the energy of pure “flow” and unleashes our potential to unfold into all that we are.

Living happiness is genuine… Not to be confused with “putting on a happy face”. When you tone those “happiness muscles”, your inner laser shifts from scouring the horizon for problems to scouring the horizon for evidence of well being. Both elements are present. Both are real. One empowers. One embitters.

Yes, happiness is a lifestyle. Adopt it with gusto! Savor the leafy green thoughts and keep the head aches at bay. Revel in your blossoming spiritual 6-pack and wear the strength of your inner joy with pride.

You are here to think great thoughts and to stride powerfully ahead into the future of your imagining. Be proud of your ability to choose the reality of optimism. Dance. Run. Muse. Invigorate! And by all means, LIVE! In 4-D, 5-D or even 10-D high def Dolby Life! Take the reins and reclaim the happiness lifestyle of your childhood with the powerful desire of your adulthood.

THIS is Life at its most promising. Your moment is now. Seize it. Love it. And let your happiness define you in all of its glory!

Much love,
Tinkerbell

Inside your fears is a dream waiting to make itself heard….

dramatic dream

dramatic dream (Photo credit: unNickrMe)

My inner world is a reflection of the outer world….sometimes it is bright and sunny (“Life’s a Beach” weather)…sometimes it’s partly cloudy….sometimes it’s a light drizzle…and sometimes it’s a full fledged tropical storm ( I suppose that this type of inner weather inspired the “Life’s a B-tch” mantra..!)….

The temptation is to try to achieve as many “beach” days as possible (could this be why I have gravitated to Florida…??), but when it rains, I console myself with the knowledge that our glorious planet would be one dry, nasty little dust bomb if it never rained.

Knowing that I definitely don’t want to wake up as a “dry, nasty little dust bomb”, I reluctantly allow my inner world to try to relax into those “indoor weather” days.

That’s a bit of a long intro, so let it suffice to say that I woke up yesterday knowing that in spite of the appearance of sun outdoors, inside my world was definitely a rainy weather day. In spite of the chipper “Tick Tock” song on my alarm, in spite of the lure of my favorite gym classes, and in spite of the yippity yaps of my three “furever” friends, the idea of burying myself more deeply under the covers and letting the world orbit without me seemed like the most palpable option at that moment. Yes, all analogies aside, this was a day when the stress factor seemed almost overwhelming. I wasn’t even in fight or flight mode. I was in the “why don’t you just hide” mode…

And as I lay there, trying to inch my way to better and better thoughts (which can seem truly IMPOSSIBLE when part of my mind insisted on belting out those “helpful little realities”–cough, sputter, wheeze— along the lines of “how on earth could you have gotten yourself into this….what happened…you should have, could have, would have…and we of course TOLD YOU SO….!), something quite magical happened….

This wee tiny little thought just popped into my head…suddenly…and unambitiously…it was like the person who pops into the party where everyone has decided to wear black, but this quiet little person has decided to wear this brilliantly bright red dress (or jacket) and all of sudden, the room’s world is a brighter place.

“Inside your fears is a dream waiting to make itself heard….”

As I poked at this small but mighty thought, I felt that first little ray of sunshine dance into my inner world. A new seed had sprouted and the roots were taking hold. I got out of bed and began my morning with this odd sense of hope and faith in my path–when moments ago, I felt like my road had been blocked by a landslide. As I maneuvered through my chores, my mind began to play with this new guest…this interesting new perspective that proclaimed itself to be a “reality”. Could I embrace this as a “real” belief? Would it pass the taste test? I poked and prodded some more and inched my way gingerly back to the computer.

My fear was that the day would bring more challenges…but if fear was just the wrapping paper for the dream that lay inside, could I coax myself to peel away that wrapping and focus instead on uncovering the gift? I took a breath…a deeeeeeep breath….yes, I could feel that I was already able to find some thoughts that allowed me to definitely begin to feel little tingles of hope…it was still a glimmer, but it was definitely better….

It was not unlike taking myself to the gym, but this time, instead of exercising my body, I was exercising my mind….at first, “lifting” those hopeful thoughts to a point where they felt genuine and natural was a bit hard. I have been immensely helped by the ideas shared by Abraham-Hicks, so I knew to start “general”. I left the “how will I accomplish” and “when will it get here” questions for my “universal trainer” to figure out. I just began gently focusing on the things that WERE going well, the things that I HAVE improved in my world, and what it feels like when it feels really good….!!! How DOES that successful sensation feel? What DO I feel like I really love doing–and therefore do it well? And haven’t so many “successful” individuals had some amazing stories to tell? What would be my story?

Suddenly, I had that little jolt of energy, for no “logical” reason (if you were basing logic on the stresses that I was facing at work). But–guess what? I had SHIFTED my logic…. my logic had suddenly bought into the belief that these reasons for optimism were real…yes…REAL! They FELT real, so I was off and running and ready to energize my day!

Well, here’s where the “cool, weird” part landed… my phone rang…and an official legal document that I feared was in jeopardy (and that supposedly would take up to 3 months to resolve) was approved and ready to go…yes, it had only taken 2 weeks!!! I got two emails from clients saying that their slow payments were being overnighted to me. Presto! My cash flow was instantly better… New clients called…and my world was suddenly an easier place to breathe. The rain had definitely created some new blooms in the process. Ideas were flowing and I was once again seeing signs of the “ener-joy” (energy+ joy….yes, I am a solid believer in creating my own vocabulary!).

I don’t know exactly what my dream to end all dreams is. I find that I have many dreams–and that they change with my own inner ebb and flow. But, I can say this, by lightly gliding through the fear, I did find more focus…a finer tuning…revived hope and vision. I am not a big fan of stress and daunting challenges, but maybe that’s where courage comes in… Perhaps courage is that little voice that bravely proclaims in the midst of those inner demons:

“Inside your fears is a dream waiting to make itself heard…”

Courage is the moment when you take that next step forward….

Wishing you all your own moments of bliss and courage…

In-joy,

Tinkerbell

Once Upon Our Time…..

To my dear darling sweet planet…. I am not part of your beginning and I am not part of your end (if there is indeed such a thing), but thank you for allowing me the glimpse at the perfection that we call life~~~ wow, how short and sweet a mere hundred years can seem when there is a planet brimming with such beauty, such insight and such love… each moment stands still when basking in the brilliance of even the most trivial of your realities… so let there be life and let there be imagination for in our imagination grows the seeds of eternity…kiss me with your sunsets and push me forward with my “defeats” … bless me with the ability to grow…and in my growth, let me understand that change is the wonder from which all infinity blossoms… and in the meantime, I watch the turtle persevere to the next pond. I watch the roses unfold into their full bloom. I listen to my children navigate to new frontiers with glee and exquisite confidence. I listen to my own heart dance and play at the possibilities. This is life. This is bliss. THIS, my dear ones, is a look into the soul of our most eternal and sacred being-ness. This is the opportunity to throw the acorns back up to the sky. This is the opportunity to smile with the pure unadulterated smile of the “can be”.  This is about beauty and wisdom and about all that we can’t perhaps yet explain. This is about the silence and the awe that we feel under the moon and the stars when all of the rest of the world is trying to make us believe that this magnificent planet is somehow broken…. This is about the unfinished and about the exquisitely unfolding… This is about pure life—pure breath—and ultimately about pure and sublime NOW….. Being wholly and fully ALIVE could not possibly hold any more rich meaning than the gift of each reverent breath of evolution…..Dive in and revel in the opportunity to mold your own clay of dreams….the lusciousness of existence simply waits for your decision to harvest it….

And so, dear world, as I force myself to say goodnight to another day of promise and adventure, I gaze at your moon….I taste your breeze….and I inhale the awe of how much beauty has come before me and how much mystery is yet to come….Life is not about the “must do’s”…. Life is about the forgotten moments that shape all that we are yet to become… Life is our own personal fairy tale…and OH! To behold the magic!!!!!

Financial abundance– the ultimate love/hate relationship?

If money is the “root of all evil” then why do we chase it and/or lament it so? We give it so much power and responsibility…so much credit…so much fear….what if we could gently shift and explore prosperity in a new empowering way…. what if today, we could wake up and proclaim:

Today, dear world, will be the day when we SEE OUR ABUNDANCE! Today will bring that powerful shift where we step further into our total loving embrace of this planet and all that it is and all that it offers to be. Today we see the evidence—”the answer to our prayers”. Today we feel the “whoosh”—the undeniable arrival– of our financial abundance!

Today, dear world, we commit to letting go! Today, we let money “off the hook”~~ “off the hook” for all of the wrongs that have been done in its name~~ “off the hook” for all of the “evil” that we have given it credit for ~~ “off the hook” for its apparent “absence” or “abuse” ~~ “off the hook” for padding the pockets of those whose choices or actions would not be our own ~~ “off the hook” for seeming to be the “yang” to the “yin” of spirituality ~~ “off the hook” for simply not being there when we “needed” it or for being there for others when we thought that it should also be ours~~

Yes, today, we will stop trying to figure it all out ~~today, we will forgive ourselves for not yet being the “Master of Financial Abundance” ~~ today, we will forgive ourselves our credit scores and all our bills ~ we will forgive our lack of savings and lack of retirement fund ~~ today, we forgive all of those “financial mistakes” and we even forgive ourselves for focusing on lack when there is so much abundance to be had ~~ TODAY IS THAT DELICIOUS AND LONG AWAITED SHIFT where we each allow the abundance of money to simply BE!!!

And HOW SWEET THE SHIFT FEELS!! Now, we embrace money simply and majestically as another marvellous resource of our planet and of our life experience ~~ we allow money to be our teacher ~~ in fact, dear money, today we invite you to become our friend ~~ yes, if we can resist judging you based on beliefs that no longer serve us, we see that you are like the oxygen that gives our global economy life. To criticize you is like criticizing the air – because even our life-giving air carries germs and viruses.

Yes, today is about turning over a new leaf and welcoming you into our powerful circle of creation ~~ today is about revisiting the dream.  Today we laugh ~~~today we marvel at the crazy yet delicious irony of life. Today, we giggle at the sense of humour of our vibrant Universe that inspired our species to have created you! If the pursuit of “love” and “joy” weren’t enough to challenge our species, we then chose to add you, dear money, into the mix! You are perhaps our wild child—our unruly offspring, brimming over with potential but defying control— Yes, dear creation, pursuing you can sometimes feel like we have fallen into the deep end—way over our heads, gasping for air— attempting to doggy paddle our way out of a shark tank .

So today, dear prosperity, we celebrate our shift! We breathe in the feeling of ease and allow money to FLOW!  Like oxygen flowing into our lungs and blood flowing in our veins, money now serves us as yet another powerful potential nutrient ~~ a life giving force ready to energize and expand us to new dimensions of health and being.

Today money becomes the paint on our giant canvas—a beckoning palate of colors and creativity. Today we dare to say “what if….?” What if we can become a new generation~~? A generation that aligns with money to create great masterpieces? A generation whose vision includes the ease of health in all aspects of our experience—physical, mental, spiritual, global AND financial? Suppose that our children view money with joyous enthusiasm—revelling in its abundance and its flow like dolphins frolicking in a great sea? Imagine the day when we are all so at one with money that its presence becomes like a heartbeat— ever present and strong, but quiet and steadfastly assured~~!

And so, as we turn to welcome in our abundance, let us be as parents welcoming into our embrace one of the most creative yet sometimes precocious of our children. There will be stories—wild tales of dragons and great adventures – there will be memories from the day and hopes for tomorrow, but there will be the security and the gentle knowing that we are one— loving and thriving unconditionally. Today, we relax into feeling the purity of our  rekindled love for this sometimes “unruly” child of abundance. We may still stare upon this little creation of our great species knowing that it has pushed us often way beyond our comfort level ~~ but today we now bask and celebrate knowing that thanks to its push, we are now more of all that we are ~~ or more importantly all that we dream of becoming. Yes, dear abundance. You stretch us and you bend us, but together we create a richer planet (double entendre intended). So welcome home ~~ it is time! In fact, it is finally OUR time! Today, we walk arm in arm with abundance and know that life just keeps on getting better for us! YES, today, a new era is launched! So thank you, world, for yet another day of empowering creations! Thank you for the ease and the success of this great “allowing”! I am refreshed and ready to dance upon the glorious wings of this magnificent day!!!

Celebrate the Genius of this Uncompleted Journey!

Hello, hello dear wonderful friends! Wow, can you imagine a more phenomenal Sunday? The brilliant blue sky and poofy white clouds are so fresh and alive that it almost feels like the first day on Earth! The air is vibrant… the breeze caresses and teases… it is a day of promise and potential… it is the start to more “becoming”…more blossoming… more understanding…. the opportunity to be yet more of all that we are and all that we are yet to BE….

So, today, as we behold our surroundings with the eyes of a new day, let’s take a deep luxurious breath….soak in the moment….celebrate not only the luscious components of our “now”, but let’s look back with our “ener-joy” eyes and appreciate how truly far, far, far we each have come!

We began as babes….raw potential….little balls of hope, joy, enthusiasm and imagination….as we grew and observed, as we experienced the peaks and the plunges of our experience, we developed beliefs about the world….beliefs about our “progress”…. beliefs about everything from our own worthiness to our own “reality”. Perhaps in an intent to “protect” us or an intent to “point us in the right direction”, we were given guidelines for what constituted “success”… we were often lead to believe that “how far we have yet to go” far outweighs “how far we have come”… we have been trained to seek those peak moments in order to feel true self-worth… moments when we can proudly display the perfect credit rating, the perfectly decorated home, the Olympic gold medal, the ultimate promotion…the perfect this…the perfect that….a focus on the destination that can inadvertently rob us of the joy in the process….the beauty of the journey… the awe of our unfolding…..and the MAGNIFICENCE of this human being (YOU) who has created this wonderful work in progress….!

Yes, it can be true…our “well trained” minds can lead us along a path that can make us feel flawed…like the glass half empty….all too often when we think about how far we have come, we think about the steps along the way that “we should have done differently”….the dreams that still haven’t come to pass…in this fleeting moment of potential, rather than revel in our great leaps forward (and they are AMAZING LEAPS if you look at them), we can sometimes obsess instead with HOW MUCH FURTHER we “have” to go before we can “finally” allow ourselves license to be happy… all too often our minds can become the theater that plays the same saga on infinite repeat… a broken record reliving all those most intense times that we have endured, the betrayals, the disillusionments, the heartache, the “failures”…..

Yes, we can get on a mental roll that doesn’t lend power to our day, BUT……before we beat ourselves up TOO much for that silly ingrained habit, let’s rejoice in the fact that even this “non-serving” behavior is part of the miracle of our own creative process…!

Isn’t it true that when we REALLY fuss, we REALLY look for a way to find that happiness that we think that we are missing? We may yell and kick and scream and feel sorry for ourselves, but eventually, we start looking for solutions. Somehow these yucky feelings point the way and we start moving again…we start thinking…we start questing… we start opening up to new possibilities in our world….

Wasn’t it someone’s impatience with travel that lead to the genius strides forward in our transportation? Wasn’t it someone’s vision of a better way to access information that has given birth to these computers that we now access? Wasn’t it someone’s appreciation for generosity and greatness that lead to the creation of the Nobel Prize?

So, yes, dear friends, today let’s not only celebrate how far we have come, and the unequaled BEAUTY of where we ARE but let’s celebrate the genius of the “uncompleted journey”! As I sit here at my desk with the sound of my sweetheart listening to the news, I am in awe of the beauty of this journey. Here I sit with my world so different than what it was even one tiny year ago. The weeks fly by…new ideas…new wishes…new wonders…new things to reach for….with each challenge comes a possibility….Sometimes I confess I yearn for a bit more ease…sometimes more clarity… sometimes the things that I think that I want seem so far away…almost impossible to reach…. sometimes I feel fear and frustration… and yet, often…as I glide through those tumultuous oceans, I find the light house…the idea that guides me through my inner storm…I grow and I create and I BECOME something even bigger than I had been a moment before….

We are joyously AND PERFECTLY works in progress! That joyous enthusiasm….that breathless sense of invincibility that we experienced as a child…. that sense of thrill and “all-is-well-ness” that pours through us in those moments of success….ALL are waiting in the wings for us to access at any moment…! True, we are not who we were when we were young: WE ARE MORE! We are MORE knowledge, MORE wisdom, MORE aware of our loves and our preferences, MORE stimulated to BE who we have the potential to be, MORE packed with potential—thanks to ALL of the life that we have oh-so-deeply LIVED.

YES, there has been sublime joy! (Remember it!) Yes, there have been moments of anguish, but those are the rocket power to your desire to grow. Today, I urge you to join with me in celebrating the “small stuff”….the wonderful joy that I always feel in the morning when I am the recipient of the happy dance from my pups…. the strength in my body…the growth in my soul…. the PERFECT time of year when the weather is just so right… the sparkle in my lover’s eye…the memory of a compliment or a special joke…the feeling of family…. the exhilaration as I master a descent…the calmness when I used to panic…the faith that comes out of nowhere…the sweet feeling of success when I totally achieve….

Yes, let’s remember to revel in the power of celebration! Let’s give ourselves the license to laugh more, dance more, play more and bask in the feeling of bliss! Let’s remember to focus on the moment without the distraction of the destination…. Let’s smile at ourselves in the midst of our becoming and savor and enjoy…. We are “NOT DONE” yet, but “OH, THE PLACES WE WILL GO!” (Thank you, Dr. Suess!)

So….. tuck away that GPS for now, and dive deliciously and whole-heartedly into your journey knowing that you have your own INNER COMPASS and it is steering you WELL! Go forth and explore! Today is a frontier worth claiming as YOUR OWN! Happy Sunday, dear friends!!!
